Position Title: Public Law Attorney

This role requires a skilled attorney with a focus on public law to provide legal expertise to public agency clients. The attorney will engage in various legal matters, including municipal law, environmental law, and land use. The position presents challenges related to the specificity of the legal area and the need for strong negotiation skills. Salary Range: $120,000 - $210,000 / Year DOE

• Attend board meetings and provide legal recommendations
• Advise public agency clients on legal matters, including municipal law and environmental law
• Research and draft contracts, ordinances, and legal opinions
• Assist public agency staff and officials with various legal inquiries

• 5+ years of experience in California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA)
• Law degree from an ABA‑accredited law school
• Barred in California
• Strong negotiation and advocacy skills
• Experience representing public entities or working in the public sector is a plus
• Fine with solo practitioners as long as they have worked in a law firm
• Excellent research, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to clients
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
• Good time management and organizational skills
• Professional, personable, and friendly demeanor
• Experience with public sector law is preferred
