2nd Shift Machine Operator I Job Description

This role focuses on the detailed inspection, setup, and teardown of critical customer equipment in a light industrial environment. You will support manufacturing and testing operations by ensuring equipment is properly prepared, inspected, and maintained according to established procedures and quality standards. The position requires initial onboarding and training on 1st shift, followed by a transition to a permanent 2nd shift schedule, and involves working with tools, schematics, and basic electronic test equipment while collaborating closely with test technicians.

• Work under the direction of the Manufacturing and Test leadership team and collaborate with Test Technicians to perform detailed inspection, setup, and teardown of critical customer equipment in accordance with established manufacturing and quality procedures.
• Ensure equipment is properly set up, inspected, and fully operational prior to use, following all documented standards and guidelines.
• Perform workflow scheduling and related administrative tasks as needed to support efficient production and testing activities.
• Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and accurate manner, maintaining a consistent focus on quality and safety.
• Conduct inspection, setup, and teardown of equipment to ensure availability, quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of equipment used in production and testing.
• Assist Test Technicians with day-to-day tasks, including preparation, handling, and verification of equipment and components.
• Support and participate in continuous improvement activities by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, safety, and efficiency.
• Work on assembling and taking apart server boxes for data centers, ensuring all components are handled carefully and according to specifications.
• Use torque tools, basic hand tools, and follow schematics to assemble and disassemble equipment accurately.
• Follow posted factory regulations and safety rules at all times, including safe handling of both hazardous and non-hazardous waste as required.
• Remain flexible and perform other related duties as needed to support production, testing, and operational goals.

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent education.
• Experience using torque tools, basic hand tools, and power tools in a production or assembly environment.
• Ability to read and work from schematics and related technical documentation.
• Ability to use basic electronic test and measurement equipment, such as digital volt meters (DVMs).
• Ability to effectively communicate in English, both in writing and verbally, in a clear and concise manner.
• Good color vision to accurately identify color-coded wiring and cables.
• Demonstrated ability to organize work, communicate with others, and function as a cooperative team player.
• Physical ability to lift, carry, bend, twist, push, pull, squat, and hold in place parts weighing up to 23 pounds repeatedly over the work period.
• Ability to stand continuously for extended periods of time during the shift.
• Ability to regularly ascend and descend ladders and/or stairs throughout the workday.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with the flexibility to work occasional overtime during the week and on Saturdays on short notice.
• Ability to tolerate working in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment with exposure to dust and limited exposure to fumes and odors.
• Ability to handle both hazardous and non-hazardous waste safely and in compliance with applicable regulations.

• Experience in a light industrial, production, or assembly environment.
• Experience assembling and disassembling server boxes or similar equipment for data centers.
• Cross-cultural awareness and the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong written communication skills to document work and communicate internally and externally in a clear and concise manner.
• Ability to facilitate and lead meetings with others to coordinate tasks and share information.
• Comfort using simple test equipment and a wide range of manual and pneumatic hand tools.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and willingness to support process enhancement initiatives.
