Sales Associate at Dunn-Edwards deliver customer service that offers a distinctive shopping experience for both homeowners and professionals. Responsibilities include demonstrating outstanding customer service and selling skills, continuously learning about the coatings industry, keeping the sales floor stocked, organizing the sales and stock areas, and building trusted partnerships with painting professionals. Sales Associates interact with customers via phone and in-person to offer expert advice, while also processing and completing transactions.

They uphold Dunn-Edwards store vision of fast and reliable service and ensure the store is well stocked and maintained. Continuous learning through Dunn-Edwards Learning Network and job certification programs helps answer questions, make recommendations, and provide a foundation for advancement as the company grows.

• Make a connection with customers, ask questions about their project, give options and advice.
• Ensure delivery of product meets Dunn-Edwards and customer quality and service expectations.
• Conduct oneself in a professional manner, always acting as a positive extension of the Dunn-Edwards brand.
• Efficiently take customer orders via email, phone, or in-person and process through point-of-sale.
• Adhere to company safety standards at all times.
• Clean and maintain all store and equipment areas as assigned.
• Assist with maintaining proper merchandise inventory levels.
• Communicate clearly both written and verbal.
• Stock and merchandise products according to planogram.
• Meet core competency expectations:

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Four years of high school with diploma or GED equivalent; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees. Read and write English for safety purposes.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure; compute rates, ratios, and percentages; interpret bar graphs; operate a point-of-sale system and complete cash transactions accurately.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

This job requires general computer knowledge, mathematical experience, and customer service skills.

Store and outside sales positions may require lifting items from 5 to 75 pounds, using electronic equipment (computers, point-of-sale devices, communication devices), driving a large delivery truck, climbing ladders, walking on uneven surfaces, interacting face‑to‑face and over the phone, interacting regarding color, standing for long periods, and using a respirator.
