About the RoleAs a Project Foreman for Fire Alarm Systems at Honeywell, you will be at the forefront of protecting lives and property by ensuring the performance and reliability of critical fire alarm and life safety systems. You will lead the programming, troubleshooting, maintenance, and inspection of cutting‑edge fire detection systems in complex environments. Your technical expertise will directly support the safety of our clients and the quality of our fire protection solutions.
You will work closely with project managers and other stakeholders, ensuring systems are installed and maintained in accordance with industry codes and Honeywell’s high standards of excellence.
- Travel to customer sites 75–90% of the time for several days and weeks at a time.
- Manage own travel arrangements, site coordination, and reporting.
- Program, configure, and test fire alarm control panels and related devices.
- Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on fire alarm and life safety systems.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure operational readiness and code compliance.
- Oversee subcontractors and perform quality checks in accordance with customer requirements and regulatory standards.
- Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and applicable fire codes.
- Collaborate with project managers and field teams to meet project schedules and quality expectations.
- Maintain accurate service documentation, inspection reports, and compliance records.
- Perform additional duties as required to support project and business objectives.
- Requires ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, work at heights, and perform physical tasks related to installation and inspection of fire alarm systems.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching during installation and inspection activities.
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity required to handle tools, wiring, and electronic test equipment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and extended shifts based on customer needs.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands‑on experience in fire protection or a closely related field.
- Hands‑on experience with fire alarm panel programming, including new construction and retrofit projects.
- NICET Level III or IV certification in Fire Alarm Systems.
- Strong understanding of NFPA codes, local fire regulations, and industry standards.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 90%.
- Ability to pass an FAA background check.
- Associate's degree in Fire Protection Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Notifier manufacturer certification.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot independently and provide mentorship to junior technicians.
- Familiarity with Honeywell XLS-3000 and ZLS-140 systems a strong plus.
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
The annual base salary range for this position varies by location:
California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Connecticut is $65,400 - $81,800. For Washington and most major metropolitan areas in New York & California, the range is $71,000 - $89,800. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education and training, key skills, and market and business considerations.
