ABOUT THE TEAM

You will join a dynamic R&D Engineering team focused on designing, prototyping, and deploying cutting‑edge electro‑mechanical systems in the EW (Electromagnetic Warfare) domain. The team thrives on rapid iteration, cross‑functional collaboration, and delivering high‑quality hardware in challenging environments. As part of this group, you will work closely with design engineers, firmware/software teams, and test specialists to bring new capabilities from concept to field‑ready deployment.

We are looking for a Lab Support Technician to join our R&D team. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, motivated, and eager to grow their technical skills in a fast‑paced R&D environment. You will assist with lab organization and upkeep, support engineering teams in day‑to‑day tasks, and gain hands‑on experience with solving real‑world technical challenges. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with engineers, learn new skills, and play an important part in our hardware development efforts.

  • Perform basic equipment calibration, testing, and simple troubleshooting under guidance from engineers.
  • Support with receiving, organizing, and inventorying incoming parts, components, and equipment.
  • Help engineers with assembling test fixtures, pulling cables, and setting up test benches.
  • Perform basic soldering tasks such as taking apart and connecting components (experience is a plus, but training can be provided).
  • Clean and maintain lab equipment, workstations, and shared work spaces to ensure proper operational condition.
  • Assist with packing, shipping, and receiving parts or equipment for external vendors, repair, or field deployments.
  • Learn and follow established best practices for ESD protection and lab safety protocols.
  • Provide hands‑on support for projects as needed, learning from and collaborating with senior engineers to enhance your skills.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working in a technical lab, R&D, or engineering environment.
  • Basic understanding of tools and equipment commonly used in an electronics or R&D lab.
  • Ability to assemble mechanical or electrical setups (e.g., test rigs, cable routing, or equipment installations).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain lab order, track inventory, and ensure equipment availability.
  • Willingness to complete hands‑on tasks, including lab organization, cleaning, and maintenance.
  • Basic understanding of safety protocols and environmental best practices, including maintaining clean and orderly work spaces.
  • Proactive and eager to learn, with strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift small, manageable loads (up to 30 lbs) as part of the role.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Hands‑on soldering experience (e.g., basic wire soldering, through‑hole, or surface‑mount soldering).
  • Familiarity with basic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies.
  • Experience working in an R&D or prototype lab environment.
  • Basic cable assembly or wiring harness experience.
