Anduril is seeking an Early Career Firmware Engineer (2026) to join our team based in Costa Mesa, CA. The Firmware team at Anduril develops core technology used across multiple products such as Menace, Dive‑XL, Ghost, and Roadrunner. We work in close coordination with Electrical Engineering to develop hardware and software solutions to some of the hardest problems facing our customers. You'll contribute low level firmware development for systems operating on land, sea, and air.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Develop low‑level firmware/software for microcontrollers
- Create reusable device drivers and integrate system‑level features
- Architect changes to support an ever‑growing codebase
- Quickly debug and troubleshoot issues that span the electrical, firmware, and software boundaries
- Collaborate and review schematics with the electrical engineering team
- Must be pursuing or have completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
- 3 months – 2 years of technical work to include technical internship and able to start full time in 2026.
- Experience coding in C for embedded systems
- Familiarity with microcontrollers with analog and digital sensors
- Knowledge developing firmware in bare‑metal or RTOS environments
- Understanding and application of coding best practices, board bring up and debugging
- Some familiarity with common bus protocols such as USB, SPI, I2C, CAN, RS232, RS485, Ethernet, etc.
- U.S. Persons status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data
- Experience with one or more microcontroller cores (ARM, AVR, MSP
430, PIC, etc.) - Debugging skills with JTAG, SWD, Oscilloscopes, and Logic analyzers
- Have a bias for action. If you see a problem, you want to solve and fix it
- Be naturally curious about the technologies and tools you use
- Low‑ego, high ownership, and mission oriented.
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Anduril’s total compensation package.
