The Role
We are seeking an experienced Firmware Engineer to develop low-level embedded software and build the tests that verify it works. You'll update requirements, write the code, and write the tests to prove the code. If you care deeply about writing clean, verifiable embedded C and you want to see your work fielded on real platforms in months, this is the role.
WhatYou'll Do:
- Develop low-level firmware in C for microcontrollers across multiple product platforms
- Design, develop, and document test procedures that verify firmware behavior against requirements
- Debug and troubleshoot issues that span the electrical, firmware, and software boundaries
- Support board bring-up and hardware-firmware integration alongside cross-functional teams
- Maintain requirements traceability to ensure every requirement has a corresponding test
- Concurrently manage involvement in multiple projects at various stages from prototype through production
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
- 4+ years of firmware/embedded software development experience
- Strong C coding ability for embedded systems
- Hands-on experience developing and executing test procedures for embedded firmware
- Solid understanding of coding best practices, board bring-up, and debugging
- Experience with common bus protocols (SPI, I2C, CAN, RS232, RS485, Ethernet)
- Familiarity with requirements generation and linking requirements to verification tests
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
- Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities
