Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center.
As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.
The Firmware Team at Anduril develops core technology used across multiple products such as Barracuda, Dive-LD, Altius, and Roadrunner. We work in close coordination with Electrical Engineering to develop hardware and software solutions to some of the hardest problems facing our customers.
About the RoleWe are looking for a Firmware Engineer to develop low-level embedded software and help build the tests that verify it works. You'll work alongside senior engineers to update requirements, write firmware in C, and write tests to prove the code does what it should. If you want to grow your embedded skills on real defense platforms that ship in months — not years — this is the role.
What You'll Do:
- Develop low-level firmware in C for microcontrollers across multiple product platforms
- Write and execute test procedures that verify firmware behavior against requirements
- Debug and troubleshoot issues that span the electrical, firmware, and software boundaries
- Support board bring-up and hardware-firmware integration alongside cross-functional teams
- Help maintain requirements traceability to ensure every requirement has a corresponding test
- Contribute to multiple projects at various stages from prototype through production
Required Qualifications:
- BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
- 2+ years of firmware/embedded software development experience
- Solid C coding ability for embedded systems
- Experience with common bus protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, or similar)
- Familiarity with board bring-up, debugging tools, and coding best practices
- Exposure to writing or executing test procedures for embedded firmware
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
- Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with one or more microcontroller cores (ARM, AVR, MSP
430, PIC, etc.) - Experience with an RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, VxWorks, or similar)
- Familiarity with requirements management tools (e.g., Jama, DOORS)
- Experience building or contributing to automated test frameworks for embedded systems
- Comfortable with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for test automation
- Interest in defense technology and mission-driven work
$166,000—$220,000 USD
