Compensation: $37 per hour
Hours per Day: Monday - Thursday 8:00 am - 2:30 pm

The IET & IELCE Program Coordinator will design, deliver, and coordinate integrated English literacy, civics education, and workforce training for adult learners. This role combines classroom instruction, hands‑on training, certification preparation, and civic engagement activities. The instructor will work with learners in a contextualized commercial kitchen setting (Generations Caf) and digital classroom, ensuring alignment with College and Career Readiness Standards (CCRS), Academic, Career, and Employability Skills (ACES), and Transitions Integration Framework (TIFF), standards.
The position also includes coordinating certification testing, collaborating with community partners, and preparing learners for employment, further education, and active civic participation.

Key Responsibilities Instruction and Curriculum Delivery- Deliver contextualized English language, literacy, and civics instruction using CCRS and ACES/TIF.
- Teach Microsoft Office Suite, guiding students to earn official certifications.
- Integrate academic instruction with hands‑on training in customer service and culinary arts through commercial kitchen operations.
- Prepare learners for Serv Safe Food Handler, Manager, and Allergens certifications.
- Integrate English in the Workplace curriculum within caf‑based training.
- Use Learning Upgrade, English Unlocked, and ELLI resources to provide leveled instruction in English, math, digital literacy, and workforce readiness.
- Teach the American Civics Course covering U.S. Constitution, Bill of Rights, government structure, and civic responsibilities.
- Deliver citizenship instruction aligned with the U.S. naturalization process, using digital learning tools and direct instruction.
- Facilitate student participation in civic activities, such as legislative committee meetings and Day at the Capitol events.
- Guide students through resume creation, interview skills practice, and professional communication.
- Supervise student projects, including Excel budget sheets, marketing materials, and presentations for Generations Caf.
- Support real‑world, hands‑on customer service training within the caf.
- Conduct pre‑ and post‑assessments to measure progress.
- Provide personalized feedback and coaching to meet individual learner needs.
- Track student progress toward certifications, employment goals, and civic participation milestones.
- Collaborate with Great Rivers Staff, community partners, and local representatives to enhance instruction and opportunities.
- Schedule and coordinate certification exams, field trips, and guest speaker sessions.
- Maintain accurate records for grant reporting and compliance.
- Experience teaching English language learners or adult education students.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and digital literacy tools.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Master's degree or relevant certification (TESOL, ESL, Adult Basic Education, Workforce Development).
- Minnesota Teaching license or ability to apply and qualify for a Tier 1 license.
- Certified Food Protection Manager credential or ability to obtain within 60 days.
- Experience with CCRS, ACES, and TIF standards.
- Experience in hospitality, culinary arts, or vocational training.
- Combination of classroom instruction, commercial kitchen training, and off‑site civic engagement activities.
Some evenings and weekends may be required for special events or certification testing.

1:00 pm – 1:30 pm Unpaid lunch
1:30 pm – 2:30 pm straight hour of pay (no prep)
8:00 am – 9:00 am
Monday – Thursday
(First week Tuesday thru Friday for prep with team)
