Position:
Youth Enrichment Instructor for Community Education (Part Time)
Hours vary Monday - Friday and weekend hours.

Wage Information:
Hourly wage is based on the So Wash Co School Miscellenious Wage Sheet: $20.20-$32.00/hr DOQ.

Youth Enrichment Instructors wanted for opportunities in So Wash Co Community Education. Enrichment instructors will propose and teach after‑school, weekend and/or evening classes for students that help develop skills in a variety of subject areas. Examples may include but are not limited to Fitness, Art, Theater, Music, STEM, Health, Finance, Cooking & Sewing. You will work with Community Education to schedule classes around the school calendar and catalog seasons for pre‑school through high school ages.
Classes may be held in various school buildings. This is a part‑time position.
- Provide instruction and/or coaching to a variety of age levels, including preschool through high school students.
- Ensure environment, equipment and/or supplies are safe and maintained.
- Respond effectively to emergency situations.
- Report any equipment, injury or safety issues to supervisor.
- Maintain effective communication levels with students, parents/guardians and/or other adults.
- Communicate regularly with supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required:
- Background working with preschool through high students.
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic skills and techniques in designated subject area.
- Ability to effectively teach skills and techniques to a variety of age groups and ability levels.
- Effective communication skills with both youth and adults.
- First Aid and/or CPR training or ability to be trained.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Prompt, regular and reliable attendance.
- Communicates with students, parents, co‑workers, supervisors, and the community in a positive and responsive way that is consistently welcoming and enhances effective work relationships.
- Demonstrates an appreciation of diversity in all interactions and job functions.
Desired:
- High School diploma.
- Previous teaching experience.
