Supply Chain Process Designer II
Andersen Corporation is seeking a Supply Chain Process Designer II officing out of our Bayport or Cottage Grove facility depending on project. This position is responsible for managing and driving the material and information flow processes within projects. Key focus is developing the complete end-to-end supply chain system and being a key contributor on medium to large scale projects. This candidate will travel approximately 25%.
There is no sponsorship for this position.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Identifies unexpressed customer needs or customer problems and can identify potential solutions.
- Develop material, inventory, and information flow processes for the plan, make, source, and deliver strategies defined by business needs.
- Lead cross-functional team meetings, kaizen events, and value stream mapping sessions.
- Design and procure material storage systems, material handling equipment, and computer hardware on medium to large scale projects.
- Design and implement an information flow system containing supply chain and IT deliverables to meet project objectives.
- Build reciprocal working relationships with people from across the organization and suppliers.
- Communicate new ideas, project status, and results to project team and leadership through organized presentations that promote dialogue and understanding.
- Develop new concepts and ideas that reduce overall costs across the supply chain.
- Coaches, guides, and trains less experienced staff on technical skills within the functional area.
- Able to work as "in-charge" lead for supply chain specific tasks.
- Informally provides direction to IT, scheduling, procurement, sourcing, vendors, etc.
Qualifications and Skills:
- 4 year degree in supply chain, business, engineering or related degree or equivalent work experience. 5-10 years of experience preferred
- Has considerable versatility in applying specialized technical knowledge in a wide variety of situations.
- In-depth knowledge and experience in material and information flow systems and processes such as ERP, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and lean methodology.
- In-depth knowledge of lean manufacturing processes such as pull systems, kanban systems, PDCA thinking, and value stream mapping. Well-developed project management skills.
- Possesses unique or specific knowledge that is frequently sought out by others.
- Strong communication skills through written, verbal, listening, and presentation techniques.
- Experience with change management strategies.
- Ability to travel 25% as required
