Position Summary
We are seeking a Quality Control Technician to support an analytical chemistry laboratory responsible for ensuring the quality of materials produced in both a large-scale chemical manufacturing facility and a chemical pilot plant. This role involves testing incoming raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products as part of product release activities. The position offers opportunities to support pilot‑scale development projects, evaluate new testing methodologies, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the laboratory.
This is a fast‑paced, collaborative environment where timely and accurate analytical results are critical to manufacturing operations and product quality.
Pay range: $18‑$21/hour on W2 as per your experience. Contract length: 3 months with the possibility of extension.
Key Responsibilities- Perform and report analytical testing results for quality control purposes on manufactured products and raw materials.
- Conduct testing on incoming raw materials, in‑process samples, and finished products.
- Calibrate and maintain analytical instrumentation to ensure reliable performance.
- Support the evaluation and implementation of new analytical methods developed by R&D teams.
- Conduct measurement system analyses and other quality assurance activities.
- Independently prioritize incoming samples and laboratory workload to meet operational requirements.
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers, chemists, and laboratory personnel to communicate testing status, results, and any challenges encountered.
- Identify and communicate out-of-specification results and assist with investigations as needed.
- Perform basic troubleshooting of laboratory equipment and instrumentation and escalate issues when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and data records in accordance with established procedures.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience using laboratory data management, reporting, or analysis systems.
- Hands‑on experience with:
- Titrations
- Gas Chromatography (GC)
- Liquid Chromatography (LC/HPLC)
- Associated sample preparation techniques
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- Basic understanding of statistical principles used in quality control environments.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced setting.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
