The Impact You'll Make in this Role As a Quality Technician, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Testing and dispositioning manufactured products as well as raw materials using a variety of analytical techniques
- Calibrating analytical instrumentation and other laboratory equipment
- Helping R&D teams by carrying out and evaluating new test methods
- Reporting quality data and collaborating with teams onsite to act on the data
- Willingness to work a rotating schedule that includes overnight shifts
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
- Three (3) years of combined experience in a laboratory, pilot plant, or manufacturing facility in a private, public, government, or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Expertise equivalent to an associate degree or higher in chemistry, physics, biology, or related fields
- One year of experience in a quality control laboratory setting, preferably in manufacturing at an ISO 9001 or IATF 16949-certified facility
- Experience with chromatography, molecular spectroscopy, and titrations
- Experience in systems for the reporting and analysis of data in laboratory settings
- Experience with the Microsoft 365 software platform, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams
