This position offers a base salary of $52,000 plus a draw structure, with greater earning potential through sales commissions.
Description:
The Sales Estimator is a full-time, on-site position based in Cottage Grove, MN. This position is responsible for reviewing project scopes, conducting site visits, and preparing detailed, accurate estimates for residential and occasional commercial construction projects. The Sales Estimator will meet with potential and existing clients, explain proposals, and follow up on bids to secure new business while maintaining strong customer relationships.
Daily tasks include collaborating with project managers and field teams, analyzing labor and material costs, updating estimate templates, and ensuring all proposals align with company values and client expectations. The role also involves community outreach, tracking opportunities, contributing to sales forecasts, and supporting overall business development efforts.
- Strong customer service and communication skills to interact effectively with clients and internal teams.
- Proficiency in sales and business development to generate, follow up, and close project opportunities.
- Demonstrated experience in project estimation, including cost analysis and proposal preparation.
- Ability to interpret construction plans, specifications, and scopes of work.
- Solid organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Comfort working on-site, conducting walkthroughs, and collaborating with field personnel.
- Experience in construction or general contracting environments is highly beneficial.
- Proficiency with basic office software and, ideally, estimating or CRM tools (Ideally Job Tread).
- Capacity to work independently, make sound decisions, and uphold safety and ethical standards.
