Clamp Truck Operator - 2nd & 3rd Shift Available
The Clamp Truck Operator safely stages units in the warehouse, loads and unloads trailers, and performs final visual quality inspections to ensure all products leave the facility in excellent condition. This role ensures that all units are properly banded, clearly tagged, and accurately documented, while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Responsibilities
- Stage units in the warehouse and load and unload trailers in a safe, efficient, and timely manner.
- Ensure all units are properly banded and that each unit has a clear, visible load tag before loading.
- Inspect units to confirm there are no broken or missing straps prior to loading or unloading.
- Perform final visual quality inspections on all items being loaded and unloaded, identifying and reporting any defects or issues.
- Verify that unit counts and truck or carrier counts are accurate and match shipping documents.
- Review and ensure all paperwork is complete, accurate, and properly processed for each load.
- Follow all safety and company policies and immediately report any issues, accidents, or incidents.
- Complete required online safety training each month as assigned.
- Maintain regular, predictable, and exemplary attendance, including working flexible or extended hours as needed.
- Read and interpret the Wet End run schedule and lay down the correct rolls for upcoming paper grades.
- Drive and handle rolls using clamp and related equipment in a safe manner consistent with company rules and training.
- Assist operators in peeling and prepping rolls when rolls are damaged, and ensure damaged rolls are not returned to roll stock.
- Ensure butt rolls are properly prepped for return to the roll room in accordance with procedures.
- Clean and reorganize the warehouse as needed to maintain a clean, safe work area and ensure proper rotation of stock.
- Unload trucks or railcars when required, following all applicable processes and ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately.
- Use RF scanners and other warehouse technology as needed to track inventory and support warehouse operations.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience operating clamp trucks and clamp forklifts in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to safely operate reach trucks, stand-up forklifts, and other powered industrial trucks.
- Proficiency using RF scanners to track inventory and verify shipments.
- Ability to read and interpret production schedules, including the Wet End run schedule.
- Strong attention to detail for performing visual quality inspections and verifying counts and paperwork.
- Commitment to following safety policies and procedures and reporting issues promptly.
- Reliability with regular and predictable attendance and the ability to work flexible and extended hours.
- Capability to maintain a clean and organized work area and support proper stock rotation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in a warehouse, distribution center, or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with automated equipment and modern warehouse systems.
- Comfort working with paper rolls or similar materials that require careful handling.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with operators and other team members to support production flow.
- Willingness to learn additional skills and cross-train in related warehouse or production tasks.

Work Environment
The role is based in a brand-new, climate-controlled manufacturing facility equipped with new automated equipment, providing a modern, clean, and comfortable work setting. Work is performed in a warehouse and production environment with active use of clamp trucks, reach trucks, stand-up forklifts, RF scanners, and related material-handling equipment. The schedule may include flexible and extended hours, and employees are expected to maintain a safe, organized workspace while working collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
This is a Permanent position based out of Cottage Grove, MN.
The pay range for this position is $47840.00 - $52000.00/yr.
