Job DescriptionThis is not a traditional middle school teaching assignment.
At London School, one teacher serves as the primary instructor for grades 6-8 in a small‑school setting. While this requires flexibility, organization, and strong instructional skills, it also provides a unique opportunity to create an engaging and highly personalized middle school experience for students.
We are seeking an educator who embraces creativity, innovation, and relationship‑based teaching. The successful candidate will be excited by the opportunity to design meaningful learning experiences, connect learning across subject areas, and help students see the relevance of their education to the world around them.
The ideal candidate will:
- Enjoy working closely with students across multiple grade levels and building strong relationships with students and families.
- Create engaging learning experiences that capture student interest and foster curiosity.
- Think creatively and be willing to explore non‑traditional approaches to instruction while maintaining high academic expectations.
- Integrate personal passions, talents, and interests into the school experience, whether through STEM, outdoor education, agriculture, culinary arts, arts education, career‑connected learning, project‑based learning, or other areas of expertise.
- Be comfortable teaching multiple subjects and designing instruction that meets students where they are academically.
- Possess strong classroom management skills and the ability to build a positive, student‑centered culture where students are engaged, challenged, and supported.
- Work collaboratively with educational assistants and other staff members to support diverse student learning needs.
- Believe in the value and potential of rural education and be committed to helping students develop the skills, confidence, and critical thinking necessary for future success.

Required QualificationsMust be licensed or eligible for license as an Elementary teacher, grades K‑8, or Middle School teacher with a Language Arts and Math endorsement.
SalarySalary will be determined by previous relevant K‑12 teaching experience and degree level in accordance with the current salary schedule.
