Duties

The bus aide works alongside the bus driver and education service providers to support the safe and efficient transportation of special education students and students assigned to alternative school locations.

Knowledge of safety guidelines and behavioral expectations to support the safe and efficient transportation of students; experience or ability to work with special education, at‑risk, and behavior‑challenged students; assurance of safe and timely transportation to and from educational assignments; preference given to candidates with knowledge, skills, and experience working with students who have learning or behavior disabilities; must be able to obtain a first aid card.

There will be an $82.50 fee for the criminal history verification conducted by the Oregon Department of Education, payable to South Lane School District. The District does not receive revenue from this process.

$17.33 – $17.85 per hour, depending on experience level and placement on the scale.
