We are looking for a Safety Manager to join our Cottage Grove Lumber Mill in Oregon and help lead the next chapter of safety excellence at our site.

This highly visible role is ideal for a hands-on, people-focused safety leader who brings a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and genuine passion for creating a workplace where every employee goes home safe.

As Safety Manager, you will provide leadership, coordination, and technical expertise across safety, health, and industrial hygiene programs. You will partner with mill leadership and employees to strengthen safety systems, improve performance, and foster a culture where safety is an overriding value, and every associate takes ownership of safe work practices. You will also ensure the mill meets OSHA regulatory requirements as well as business and Company guidelines and initiatives.

This position reports to the site Mill Manager.

Key Functions

• Serve as a visible safety role model and champion company safety initiatives.
• Lead incident response, investigations, and Emergency Response Team coordination.
• Make safety priorities, performance, and trends visible across the site.
• Develop and maintain safety onboarding and training programs.
• Coach mill leadership and associates on incident prevention and safe work practices.
• Provide technical safety support for mill operations and problem solving.
• Maintain effective safety systems, records, reporting, compliance, and trend analysis.
• Oversee monthly safety training and quarterly inspections.
• Serve as the site contact for corporate and regulatory safety inquiries.
• Engage associates in building an associate-driven safety program.
• Lead the mill safety team and partner with HR on workers' compensation support.
• Provide on-the-floor safety coaching, recognition, and support.
• Support safety planning for capital projects and site initiatives.
