Substation Controls Business Analyst
This role requires an individual possessing strong communications skills with the ability to relate well with all levels of the organization and to be able to lead complex discussions driving to decisions around requirements, design, and solutions. Responsible for working both individually and in team environments, participating in system upgrades and project initiatives related to software applications and process improvements. Responsible for working closely with business partners to elicit requirements using multiple techniques, critically evaluating the information gathered from multiple sources, reconciling conflicts and ultimately leading to system design.
In addition, the role requires strong troubleshooting capabilities, understanding of business processes, and ability to establish strong business relationships to provide excellent customer service. Responsible for project elements such as process flow mapping, requirements gathering, functional design, system configuration, logging and managing issues, testing, organization change management, training assistance, and bridges the gap between technical delivery and day-to-day business operations to prevent costly post-launch disruptions.
Responsibilities
- Assist in defining initiative scope, readiness, complexity, benefits, and other factors
- Lead business requirement and design sessions
- Create requirement documents and functional design specifications
- Provide project inputs related to project, communication, testing, training and cutover plans
- Develop test scripts and complete system testing, track and report on testing defects, project issues, action items, etc.
- Prepare, guide and execute testing
- Develop user guides and support documentation
- Ensure organization is prepared to adopt, support, and sustain a new process or system
- Facilitate troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem resolution to resolve issues
- Drive change management activities to support system implementations, upgrades and process improvements
- Analyze business processes and recommend improvement opportunities

- Experience with business process mapping and requirements documentation
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and documentation quality
- Analyze and document data flows and integration requirements between systems, ensuring seamless data exchange, alignment with source-of-truth principles, and support for enterprise reporting and analytics.
- Ability to build and maintain strong business relationships and customer service
- Demonstrate compliance with ATC's Code of Conduct, all company policies and procedures, and all laws and regulations that govern ATC
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Progressive experience with defining project requirements, functional design specifications, developing test plans and scripts, organizational change plans and training materials.
- Proven experience with full Software Development Lifecycle
- Proficiency in use of Microsoft O365, Visio, and Share Point
- Proven experience facilitating information management and data governance practices
- Experience operating in a regulated industry and maintaining state and Federal compliance
- Awareness and adherence on appropriate use and risks of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- IIBA CBAP certification or equivalent preferred
- Prosci Change Practitioner certification preferred
- Executive, administrative or clerical position in which employee is primarily involved with sedentary work, including keyboarding.
- Require occasional lifting objects of 10 to 15 pounds and/or light physical activity including bending, squatting, stooping, twisting, reaching, walking, standing and working on irregular surfaces.
