The role reports into the Assistant Controller with high visibility with the Executive team.

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented experienced Staff Accountant to help manage the financial operations of multiple complex development projects. The staff accountant will take ownership of all core accounting functions across a growing portfolio, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, financial reporting, budgeting, bank reconciliations, and special projects as needed. Exposure to real estate accounting is not required but preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Focal point for processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Reconcile bank statements, compile and distribute cash reports.
  • Assist with general ledger maintenance, the month-end and year-end close process across multiple entities.
  • Review and maintain accurate monthly financial records, ensuring integrity across accounts.
  • Prepare accurate journal entries to record non-cash transactions.
  • Perform financial analysis and reports as needed provide insights for leadership decision-making.
  • Reconcile and maintain accurate inter-company loan balances and equity accounts.
  • Utilize Microsoft 365 with all associated applications such as Outlook, SharePoint, Word, Excel, and demonstrate intermediate skill with Quick Books
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management as needed
  • Reconcile, analyze and adjust general ledger accounts as necessary including accruals and reclassifying.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Two – Four years’ experience as a Staff Accountant in financial statement preparation, budgeting, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting best practices
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt quickly in a creative industry
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Experience with multi-entity accounting highly preferred
  • Proficiency with accounting platforms such as Net Suite, Quick Books, or similar
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and financial modeling
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external partners
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Multi-entity accounting, real estate development a plus
