Job Description
Pharmacy Technician Are you licensed as a Pharmacy Technician? If so, the Division of Correctional Health Services is seeking to higher an individual with good attention-to-detail to work under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist.
Please Note:
An offer of employment will be contingent on the applicant successfully passing a DHHS background check, pre-employment drug testing, and a Utah Department of Corrections (UDC) background screening.
- Preparing, maintaining, and organizing unit dose cubies for our automated dispensing cabinets (Pyxis) and canisters for our pharmacy filling machine/robot (DOSIS)
- Entering/typing prescriptions in our pharmacy software
- Filling prescriptions manually
- Receiving and verifying delivery of daily orders from wholesalers
- Preparing and mailing prescriptions to patients at alternative locations, cleaning equipment and work areas
- Coordinating with nursing in problem solving issues concerning patient prescriptions
- Ordering and maintaining inventory of medications, both virtually and physically, including controlled substances to ensure their security
- Cleaning, sterilizing, and/or disinfecting areas and/or equipment.
- Training new pharmacy staff
- Must be licensed as a Pharmacy Technician
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Experience working as a Pharmacy Technician
- Four 10-hour shifts per week

- Risks found in potentially dangerous or unusual environmental stress situations, e.g. working at great heights, working in extreme outdoor weather conditions, being subject to possible physical attack, etc.
- Work requires physical exertion. May require the ability to stand; walk over rough surfaces; bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) in a recurring manner and/or for long periods of time.
