Commercial Roofing Foreman – TPO & Single-Ply Job Summary

Hale's Roofing is hiring an experienced Commercial Roofing Foreman to lead single-ply crews throughout Northern Arizona. This role is focused on TPO and related low-slope systems, including full tear-offs, recovers, new construction, and repair work on commercial and multi-family buildings.

This role is ideal for a productive, quality-focused foreman who can run a welder, read a fastening pattern, and hold a crew to a warrantable standard while keeping the building dry every night.

The Commercial Roofing Foreman will oversee daily field operations, coordinate installers and labor crews, ensure work meets Hale's quality standards and manufacturer specifications, and keep projects moving efficiently. This is a full-time leadership position with strong earning potential for experienced commercial foremen who consistently deliver quality work.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage single-ply crews on commercial, multi-family, and low-slope residential projects
  • Oversee installation of mechanically attached and fully adhered TPO systems, and related single-ply systems such as PVC
  • Manage tear-off of existing built-up, modified bitumen, and single-ply roofs, and inspect the deck before dry-in
  • Lay out and install insulation, tapered systems, and cover board to the specified fastening pattern and plate density
  • Set up and calibrate hot-air welders, verify weld quality with probe testing and seam pull tests, and correct weld defects
  • Execute detail work at curbs, pipe boots, drains, scuppers, parapet walls, expansion joints, termination bars, and walkway pads
  • Ensure the roof is water‑tight at the end of every shift, including temporary tie‑ins and night seals
  • Coordinate crane, hoist, and material staging on the roof with attention to load limits
  • Meet manufacturer warranty requirements and support warranty and third‑party inspections
  • Manage safety on low‑slop roofs, including warning lines, guardrails, fall protection, and hot‑work precautions
  • Coordinate work in occupied buildings, including tenant notification, roof access, and interior protection
  • Train and mentor installers on welding, detailing, safety procedures, and quality expectations
  • Inspect work throughout each project to ensure it meets company standards, manufacturer specifications, and applicable building codes
  • Review and execute scopes of work, work orders, project plans, and installation instructions
  • Coordinate labor, materials, equipment, and jobsite needs
  • Maintain jobsite safety and ensure crews follow company safety requirements
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners, property managers, building owners, project managers, and other project contacts
  • Submit production updates, job photos, reports, time records, and required project documentation
  • Identify and resolve field issues before they affect quality or project schedules
  • Keep projects on schedule and communicate delays or changes promptly
  • Ensure crews maintain clean, organized, and professional jobsites
  • Protect customers' homes, landscaping, and property throughout the project
  • Support a positive, accountable, and team‑oriented work environment
  • Perform hands‑on single‑ply work when needed to support the crew and project
Requirements
  • 3+ years of commercial single‑ply roofing experience required
  • Foreman, superintendent, or crew leadership experience preferred
  • Proven hot‑air welding ability and strong knowledge of TPO detailing and flashing
  • Working knowledge of insulation layout, fastening patterns, and wind uplift requirements
  • Manufacturer installer certification preferred, for example Carlisle, GAF, Firestone, or Versico
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred
  • Experience managing crews and maintaining production goals
