Iowa Western is currently seeking a Part-Time Evening & Weekend Facility Supervisor for the Dr. John & Jean Marshall Wellness Center. This position reports to the Director of the Dr. John & Jean Marshall Wellness Center. The Evening & Weekend Supervisor provides general oversight of the Marshall Wellness Center during evening and weekend hours, emphasizing quality front-line customer service to students, employees, and visitors.
The Evening & Weekend Supervisor provides guidance and oversight to student and part-time workers for the Marshall Wellness Center, a 92,000-square foot multi-use fitness and recreation facility that opened in fall 2019 and features state-of-the-art cardio and strength training equipment, basketball and volleyball courts, and an 80-yard indoor field turf.
- Provide guidance and support to student employees in the management of the Marshall Wellness Center.
- Provide high-quality customer service to members and guests of the Marshall Wellness Center.
- Communicate and enforce policies and procedures of the Marshall Wellness Center.
- Deescalate situations that involve conflict..
- Document and report incidents and injuries that occur in the Marshall Wellness Center
- Operate building systems to include computer, lighting, audio/visual and sports equipment systems.
- Associate’s Degree required.
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross (or obtained within 60 days of hire).
- Experience in a customer-service related field and experience that demonstrates a commitment to delivering first-rate customer service and exceptional support on a daily basis.
- Experience that demonstrates sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic, and disabled backgrounds of community college students and that illustrates the ability to problem-solve, confront policy violators, and diffuse volatile situations.
Ability to lift up to 10lbs
- Ability to sit or stand or walk for extended periods of time, use hands to operate a computer keyboard, telephone and other basic office equipment.
