Adjunct ESL Instructor

Description

Under limited supervision, the instructor is responsible for teaching a multi-level ESL class to students enrolled in IWCC's secondary programs.

• Instructs ESL classes: listening, speaking, reading, and writing
• Facilitates student orientation.
• Implements state mandated programs and departmental policies.
• Participates as an active member of the Adult Education team during meetings and provides timely feedback when requested.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in Education
• Ability to pass a background check, have a valid U.S. driver's license and good driving record

Ability to occasionally lift 10 pounds, sit or stand for extended periods, use hands to operate computer keyboard, telephone, and other basic office equipment, and work with diverse populations. The employee is regularly required to talk, hear, use a phone, read, write, calculate, interact socially, and reason/analyze. Ability to work with minimal supervision, strong problem‑solving and interpersonal skills is preferred.
