Overview
This position is responsible for teaching classes as assigned by the academic dean. Must be willing to teach a variety of methodologies: face‑to‑face, hybrid, video conferencing, live virtual, and online.
Job Duties- Teaching classes as assigned by the academic dean.
- Evaluating and reporting student performances and progress in courses in accordance with college and division policies and procedures.
- Meeting Minimum Faculty Standards for hire and adhering to college policies and procedures.
- Promoting, developing, and delivering quality education programs with the intent to retain students to graduation.
- Demonstrating IWCC's core mission, vision, and values.
- Meeting minimum expectations for use of the College Learning Management System (post the syllabus to the course page by college deadlines, record student attendance, and maintain an accurate and current gradebook for all graded course activities) and for reports (roster verification, 5th week and 10th week progress reports, final grades, and course assessments).
- Collaborating with department and academic dean to develop and revise course and program curricula.
- Assessing and documenting student learning outcomes in courses each term in accordance with college policies and procedures.
- Collaborating with the department to analyze assessment of student learning data and develop plans for continuous improvement.
- Participating in department, division, and college meetings.
- Organizing and teaching labs as assigned by the academic dean.
- Completing required professional development and trainings.
- Exhibiting a positive and professional demeanor with all members of the college and community, contributing to a productive and growth‑oriented work environment.
- Promoting, modeling, and enforcing academic integrity.
- Being available to answer student questions outside of class time (student conferences can be held on campus in a designated student conferencing space or via phone, web conferencing, or email).
- Helping students achieve their educational and career goals.
- Referencing students to college resources.
- Maintaining confidentiality in accordance with FERPA and Title IX regulations.
- Adhering to safety policies and procedures.
- Actively participating in college life and activities, such as shared governance, student organizations, and commencement ceremonies.
- Other duties as assigned, which may include: reviewing faculty credentials in consultation with the academic dean, reviewing student transcripts upon request, assisting with instructor orientations, assisting the college with accreditation standards.
- A master’s degree in Business or Management or a master’s degree with at least 12 credit hours in business or management courses.
- Graduate classes or experience in supply chain management is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to articulate in both small and large group settings and with diverse groups of people including co‑workers, students, business contacts and at various levels from front‑line to administration.
- Strong organizational skills including the ability to multitask, to meet deadlines, to maintain and access paper and electronic files, to produce error‑free final products, and to manage time and output.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Enthusiastic and dedicated to the challenges of helping other people.
- Ability to function collaboratively as part of a fast‑paced, customer‑oriented team.
- Professional in communication, appearance, relationships, and responsiveness.
- Positive attitude.
- Self‑starter with the ability to perform with little or no direct supervision.
- Normal office heavy work (lift 30‑50 lbs).
- Light work (lift 10 lbs) / very heavy work (lift over 50 lbs).
- Medium work (lift 11‑30 lbs).
- Other physical requirements (note): the employee frequently is required to sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, telephone and basic office equipment.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
