Dean Of Business, Arts, Communication, And Social Sciences
Under the direction of the Vice President of Academic Affairs, the Dean of Business, Arts, Communication, and Social Sciences is responsible for the coordination, supervision, and leadership for the academic disciplines within the assigned division. Major responsibilities include planning and implementing all facets of instruction as one member of the college's academic leadership team.
Job duties include demonstrating IWCC's core mission, vision and values, reporting to the Vice President of Academic Affairs, developing goals, serving on the Instructional Council, maintaining professional working relationships, providing leadership and supervision, assisting with professional development, actively recruiting, evaluating performance, representing the college, providing leadership for evaluation and revision of curricular activities, developing and supervising the annual schedule of courses, managing budgets, collaborating with other departments, providing leadership for accreditation processes, building relationships with business and industry, assisting with articulation agreements, ensuring assessment of academic achievement, coordinating program advisory committees, assisting with grant writing, providing academic advising, assisting in recruiting and retention, participating in college activities, demonstrating intellectual curiosity, adhering to college policies, making decisions, and performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications include a master's degree, two years of full-time administrative or teaching experience, community college teaching and/or personnel leadership experience preferred, strong project management skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong computational ability, strong organizational skills, proficient use of Microsoft Office products, ability to read, write and speak English fluently, professional in communications, appearance, relationships, and responsiveness, positive attitude, regular, prompt & reliable attendance, ability to maintain strict confidentiality, ability to work with minimal supervision, individually and as a team member, ability to pass a background check, having a valid U.S. driver's license and good driving record.
Physical demands include sitting for extended periods, operating computer keyboard, telephone and basic office equipment, talking and hearing, lifting up to 10lbs, and driving company owned or personal vehicle. Cognitive requirements include reading, writing, calculating, social interaction skills, reasoning/analysis, and working with minimal supervision.
