Lewis Central Community School District is looking for a High School Assistant Girls Basketball Coach for the 2026-27 School Year. The activity’s expected time commitment for work is November–March, with some additional time outside this period as needed.

Job Summary: Under the general direction of the Activities Director and Head Basketball Coach, the Assistant Coach’s primary responsibilities include leading and developing students in extracurricular and co‑curricular activities to help achieve both individual and program success.

• Develop and implement effective programs that focus on skill development, teamwork, and well‑rounded student growth.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to student participants, fostering their personal and extracurricular development.
• Plan and execute practice sessions as necessary.
• Create and maintain a positive and inclusive culture that emphasizes respect, discipline, and commitment.
• Collaborate with school staff, parents, and community members to promote a supportive and engaging program.
• Attend and actively participate in scheduled meetings, workshops, and professional development opportunities as requested.
• Ensure compliance with all school, district, and state policies.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school administration regarding activities, schedules, and expectations.
• Encourage academic achievement and emphasize the importance of balancing academics with extracurricular activities.
• Attend, support, and supervise students at competitions, performances, and other related events.

Depending on the assignment, this position may require travel to all related events and, in some instances, operation of a school vehicle to transport student participants to events.
