Operations Manager
Position Title: Supv, Electric Distribution Engineering
Location: Council Bluffs, IA, United States
OverviewThe supervisor, electric distribution engineering provides highly technical engineering services and direction for individuals within electric distribution engineering. Responsibilities include general supervision of duties for electric distribution engineering employees, planning and setting work objectives for others, providing complex technical solutions for distribution projects, and providing project management oversight in terms of planning, budgeting, designing, and construction of electric distribution facilities.
Responsibilities- Direct, coordinate and review work activities and product of engineers, technicians, distribution specialists and other direct reports; manage, develop, motivate, monitor and evaluate employee performance.
- Provide advanced engineering services for planning, design and construction of electric distribution projects.
- Perform technical project management for all phases of a project including design, estimates, engineering specifications, drawings, materials procurement, construction contracts, scheduling, cost tracking and project cost projections.
- Oversee or conduct advanced engineering studies and investigations, prepare oral and written reports and provide recommendations.
- Deliver internal training and advanced engineering assistance; develop training materials, presentations, chair committees, and other duties as requested.
- Develop well‑documented work and system processes to support communications, workflow, and project scheduling.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field (or equivalent experience of six years; an advanced degree is preferred).
- At least six years of successful industry experience in engineering or a related field.
- Effective verbal and written communication, presentation, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Advanced project management skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently while meeting deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively, resolve conflicts, and promote teamwork.
