Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Compliance
Reporting to the Environmental, Health and Safety Manager at our Council Bluffs, Iowa manufacturing facility, local producers of Marie Callender, Healthy Choice, Birds Eye and more, you will support the plant’s Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability programs by integrating safety and environmental practices into daily operations. You will manage plant-level projects, training, and compliance programs while partnering with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality teams to promote a strong safety culture and regulatory compliance.
ATaste of Your Responsibilities
- Collaborate with team members and subject matter experts to design and implement plant‑specific environment, health, and safety programs
- Support project planning and execution for environment, health, and safety initiatives, ensuring alignment with plant goals
- Assist with the development and rollout of standardized safety programs tailored to plant operations
- Coordinate internal environment, health, and safety audits, including scheduling, reporting, and tracking corrective actions to completion
- Support emergency preparedness programs, including evacuation drills and severe weather response plans
- Develop and deliver environment, health, and safety training for plant personnel
- Maintain and report safety and environmental performance metrics on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis to plant leadership
- Serve as a resource for continuous improvement in safety culture and regulatory compliance
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
- 2 to 4 years of experience in project management or environment, health, and safety roles within a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Experience presenting training materials and reporting to leadership
- Familiarity with Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Environmental Protection Agency, and other relevant regulatory standards
You may be required to walk around the facility, climb stairs/ladders, kneel, or perform repetitive tasks that require hand‑eye coordination.
You may be required to lift or carry materials that can vary in weight and size.
This is a manufacturing environment with large, moving equipment. Noise levels can be high, and temperatures may vary.
CompensationPay Range: $64,000–$95,000
