Engineering Technician Senior

District 4 Office, Council Bluffs OMNI
Shift Requirements: 7:45 AM - 4:30 PM, hours may vary, some daily travel, some overnight travel required, some overtime, some nights, weekends and holidays possible.
As an Engineering Technician Senior, your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Assists Land Surveyor Senior/Assistant District Engineer in the scheduling and coordination of district survey and right-of-way activities on multiple highway projects, including major projects.
- Under the direction of the Land Surveyor Senior, prepares acquisition plats, legal descriptions, excess land plats, and transfer of jurisdiction plats using appropriate department software to be filed into public record at the County Recorder's offices.
- Serves as the coordinator with maintenance staff for right-of-way encroachments including researching and performing survey for the staking of right-of-way.
- Provides survey support for utilities accommodation issues in highway/bridge reconstruction projects.
- Communicates with public, co-workers and personnel in related departments of various federal, state, and local agencies to facilitate the exchange of information and to ensure smooth progression of project.
- Operates and maintains survey instruments such as, levels, total stations, GPS, and data collectors.
Special Requirements:
- Possess and maintain a minimum of a Class C non-commercial Driver's License
