Engineering Tech​/Sr - Electric - MidAmerican Energy

This is a multi-level posting and will be filled at the appropriate level based on experience and education.

The engineering technician - electric provides cost estimating, design, work instructions, and coordination of extensions or modifications of electric distribution facilities. The engineering technician - electric applies established engineering standards and practices for routine projects in the following areas: determining pipe, cable, and equipment sizes due to customer and system loads; project design alternatives and their associated costs; project timing and coordination;

procurement of materials and field inspection; and all other assigned duties.

Associate's degree in a technical field such as civil, electrical, mechanical, construction, computer aided drafting, electrical trade, project management, or equivalent work experience. (Typically three years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess an associate's degree in a technical field.)

Two years of related work experience in field of construction management, civil engineering, computer aided drafting or electrical infrastructure construction and/or design is required for the engineering technician level. In lieu of an associate's degree and work experience a bachelor's degree will be considered.

Effective verbal and written communications skills. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills. Project management skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple task and projects concurrently.
