Bank Mortgage Loan Officer

Availa Bank is seeking a Bank Mortgage Loan Officer to originate and grow high-quality residential mortgage relationships in our Iowa markets. In this community-focused role, you will develop and manage a pipeline of borrowers, guide customers through the mortgage process, and recommend loan products that meet their goals. Responsibilities include generating business through referrals and networking, gathering and analyzing financial information, ensuring complete and compliant loan files, and partnering with underwriting and closing teams.

Responsibilities

• Originate and grow residential mortgage loan business within Availa Bank's local markets
• Develop and manage a pipeline of prospects through referrals, networking, and community involvement
• Conduct borrower interviews, collect financial documentation, and pre-qualify applicants
• Analyze credit, income, and collateral information to recommend appropriate loan products
• Prepare complete, accurate, and compliant loan files for underwriting and closing
• Ensure adherence to all mortgage lending regulations and internal policies
• Deliver high-touch, relationship-based service throughout the loan process
• Collaborate with underwriting, processing, and closing teams to ensure timely approvals and funding
• Maintain strong relationships with realtors, builders, and community partners to generate referrals
• Contribute to community events and initiatives that support Availa Bank's local presence
