What We Are Looking For

The IT Systems Technician provides hands‑on, on‑site support for business systems and end users, focusing on maintaining reliable IT operations and minimizing downtime. This is a user‑facing role designed for someone who can manage day‑to‑day technology issues independently while coordinating with the IT Manager and a third‑party Managed Service Provider (MSP) for escalations and cybersecurity support.

This role is ideal for a technically skilled, physically capable professional who enjoys problem‑solving, working directly with users, and performing hands‑on technical work in a dynamic environment. This position works closely with other departments to ensure SIRE continues to operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry and regulatory standards.

Job Responsibilities and Duties
  • 1. Provide on‑site technical support for employees, including desktops, laptops, printers, and other devices
  • 2. Support user account management, onboarding, offboarding, and access changes
  • 3. Troubleshoot system, application, and network connectivity issues
  • 4. Assist with installation and maintenance of Ethernet and fiber cabling
  • 5. Deploy, move, and maintain IT equipment as needed
  • 6. Coordinate escalations and follow‑ups with the MSP
  • 7. Assist with routine system maintenance, updates, and IT projects
  • 8. Maintain documentation for systems, processes, and troubleshooting procedures
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and/or relevant IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications with equivalent experience
  • 2–4 years of hands‑on experience in IT support or systems administration
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft platforms
  • Familiarity with Ethernet and fiber cabling standards and installation practices
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to communicate effectively with end users
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi‑task
  • Ability to work well with others and the ability to work independently
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
