The Department Zone Lead plays a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating the production activities within a specific zone or area of the manufacturing facility. Hours:
2:30 pm - 11:00 pm | Monday - Friday with overtime as needed
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function.
- Coordinate and prioritize production activities within the designated zone.
- Ensure that production schedules are adhered to and that products are manufactured according to specifications and quality standards.
- Collaborate with other department leads to optimize overall production flow.
- Lead a team of production workers and operators within the zone.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to team members to enhance their skills and productivity.
- Encourage a positive and cooperative working atmosphere to foster team cohesion and morale.
- Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure products meet the required quality standards.
- Perform required quality control testing, recording, and charting procedures, ensuring that nonconforming product is handled according to company policy and procedures.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address any quality issues or non-compliance.
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture within the zone, ensuring all employees follow safety protocols and guidelines.
- Identify and address potential safety hazards promptly to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Oversee the proper functioning and maintenance of machinery and equipment in the zone. Coordinate with the maintenance department for repairs and maintenance tasks as needed.
- Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency enhancement.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles to optimize production processes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of production activities, quality reports, and inventory levels.
- Prepare and present regular reports on production performance and key performance indicators (KPIs) to management.
- Participate in training programs to stay updated on manufacturing techniques, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
- Share knowledge and skills with team members to enhance their professional development.
- Adhere to established company values practices, policies, and procedures at all times. Follow and support compliance with all applicable safety rules, laws, regulations, and standards.
- Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance at the assigned work location.
An individual qualified for this job must be able to:
- Accurately multiply, divide, add, and subtract whole numbers to resolve practical problems.
