Shift Type: 12-hour nights, 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM, self-scheduling; every third weekend required (Friday & Saturday for nights); rotating with occasional float to PCU and McDermott (behavioral health)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $66 per hour

- Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to Med-Surg and Orthopedics patients
- Perform hourly rounding and provide clear, patient-centered bedside shift reports
- Administer and monitor IV infusions, antibiotics, anticoagulants and narcotics safely
- Assess patients, monitor telemetry and intervene or escalate as appropriate
- Provide wound care and support recovery for surgical patients (total knees/hips, shoulder replacements, fractures)
- Document care accurately and efficiently in EPIC
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team including charge nurses and patient care techs to maintain safe ratios
- Float to PCU and behavioral health when needed, applying de-escalation and behavioral health best practices

RequirementsQualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license (license to submit required)
- BLS certification — required
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med-Surg or Orthopedics nursing experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license at time of submittal (used to confirm 50-mile radius eligibility)
- Ability to pass a skills orientation exam (open-book) with a 90% score
- Willingness to follow facility policies (e.g., no artificial nails in patient care areas)
- Flexible, self-directed, and comfortable with change and floating between units
- Active RN licensure (appropriate state) — required
- BLS Certification — required
- BSN: not required for submission Knowledge & Skills
- Strong Med-Surg and Orthopedics clinical skills and patient assessment
- Experience with IV infusions, titratable and set-rate drips (heparin, antibiotics, antithrombotics, narcotics)
- Telemetry monitoring familiarity and basic interpretation
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record
- Skill in hourly rounding, bedside shift reporting, and clear communication
- Wound care knowledge and post-operative patient management
- Ability to work with diverse patient populations including behavioral health needs
