Position: Registered Nurse - Float Pool - Full Time - Days

Work Schedule:

Day Shift, 7a‑7p, rotating weekends & holidays

Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions)

Provides age and population‑specific patient care and demonstrates individualized customer service.

Performs initial and ongoing assessments to determine nursing care needs, prioritize data collection, and use findings for discharge planning.

Develops, reviews, and revises individualized plans of care, collaborates with physicians and other disciplines, and provides patient education.

Implements interventions consistent with the plan of care, follows nursing protocols, administers medication accurately, and applies critical thinking.

Evaluates patient responses to interventions, documents outcomes, monitors patient and family capabilities, and provides complete verbal or written shift reports including SBAR content.

Performs technical skills competently and independently, follows equipment protocols, and charges supplies accurately.

Maintains professional behavior, participates in meetings and committees, and engages in performance improvement activities.

Initiates actions to correct, prevent, or minimize risks to patients, families, or staff and completes appropriate incident reports.

Reviews, delegates, and evaluates care plans for appropriate staffing, following the Nurse Practice Act and professional standards.

Requirements Education

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school (preferred).
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required).
Successful completion of annual mandatory education requirements.

Experience

No experience necessary.

Licenses & Certifications

Current valid RN license, compact multistate license, or temporary permit while awaiting licensure.
American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 3months of hire.
American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred.
Core certification related to specialty from NCC or ANCC preferred within 1year of eligibility.

Skills & Knowledge

Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interact with patients, families, and staff.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and learn to use required computer systems.

Physical Requirements

Weight:
Medium, up to 50lbs.
Physical activities include occasional climbing, crawling, kneeling; frequent balancing, carrying; constant repetitive motions.
Dependence on standing, walking, and hearing.

Hazards & Safety

Exposure to electrical shock, static, and various radiation types as applicable.
Risk of sharps, chemical agents, biological agents, and mechanical hazards.
