-14 beds Special Care - 8 Beds Kids Unit 14 beds We staff as one unit so may spend time on kids or Adults (typically Adults Ratio is 1:6 or 1:7, depending on staffing. Every other weekend 12-hour shifts: 6:30 a.m.
- 7 p.m. Common diagnoses/Types of patients All behavioral Health diagnosis. Schizophrenia, anxiety, bipolar, depression, Suicidal ideation, etc.... Experience or 'Must have' skills De-escalation skills, Be kind, know how to talk to people. We use Epic so experience is helpful. Be able to manage the care of 7 patients without difficulty which also may include discharges/admits. Are RNs required to titrate drips?
No Common titratable &/or set rate drips No Charge Nurse/House Supervisor No Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios Yes 1:14 when fully staffed. RN's are expected to round every two hours and assist with rounding if short staffed RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc) Bipap / Cpap / O2 Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips?
No Holiday Requirement Yes - every other Is there a call or standby requirement? no but may occasionally be placed on call if overtime shift Floating Requirements no Scrub Color/Dress Code Navy Blue Unit/Department specific orientation 1 Shift Adults / 1 Shift Kids Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with Common Spirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
* * RN's - Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation. OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated
* * Driver's license required at submittal and will be used to determine if candidate is outside 50 miles. Fingernail policy:
Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care- refusal to remove nails will lead to termination of contract
