Registered Nurse – IMC / PCU / Stepdown

Council Bluffs, IA

Contract | Night Shift | Onsite | Shifts available: 6:30 AM–7:00 PM and 6:30 PM–7:00 AM | Cyclic scheduling | Every other weekend required | One major and one minor holiday required

• Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced stepdown/PCU unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, managing common diagnoses including heart failure, atrial fibrillation, respiratory distress, and stroke
• Titrate drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, and nitroglycerin per physician orders and unit protocols
• Read, interpret, and document telemetry strips independently using unit monitoring equipment
• Manage and troubleshoot CPAP equipment as needed for assigned patients
• Collaborate with charge nurses, patient care techs (1:10 ratio), and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient admissions and discharges
• Float to ICU when appropriate and when experience supports safe patient care

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Current NIHSS certification
• Demonstrated experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry strips

• Prior experience in a stepdown, PCU, or intermediate care unit setting
• ICU experience or comfort floating to an ICU environment
• Experience caring for cardiac and neurological patient populations
