Registered Nurse (RN) – IMC / PCU / Stepdown

Council Bluffs, IA

Contract | Night Shift | Onsite | Cyclic Scheduling with Every-Other Weekend Requirement

• Provide direct patient care on a fast-paced 22-bed Stepdown/PCU unit managing a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Care for patients with common diagnoses including heart failure, atrial fibrillation, respiratory distress, and stroke
• Titrate drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, and nitroglycerin per physician orders and unit protocols
• Read and independently interpret telemetry strips without reliance on monitor technicians
• Manage patients requiring CPAP and troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment as needed
• Float to ICU when appropriate based on unit need and candidate experience

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Current NIHSS certification
• Ability to pass a unit-specific open-book skills exam with a minimum score of 90% during orientation
• Artificial nails are prohibited; compliance with facility fingernail policy is required

• Prior experience in a Stepdown, PCU, or IMC setting with exposure to cardiac and stroke patient populations
• Experience titrating vasoactive or cardiac drips in an acute care environment
• ICU experience or comfort floating to an ICU setting
