Level 3 Data Center Installer
Available shifts are: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM and 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM.
Essential Job Functions• Data center technicians running, dressing and labeling fibers across various buildings in the region.
• Basic knowledge of AC/DC power and installation.
• Understand and use established safety requirements/procedures for equipment, ESD, power, & radiation.
• Install frames, cabinets, and misc. equipment.
• Install cables, power, inter-cabinet, alarm punch-down.
• Able to follow established procedures and resolve any site issues i.e.: material and engineering discrepancies.
• Measure and mark floors, position and assemble iron work and cable rack.
• Drill floors, install raised floors, install anchors, level, align and secure equipment including earthquake requirement.
• Able to run Cabling, Fiber, Coax, and properly secure to appropriate locations.
• Solid work ethic, capable of self-directed work.
• Adhere to all Telecom Standards and Practices.
Education/
Certifications:
• CPR First Aid
• ESD protection course
• Safe Lifting Practices course
Experience/
Minimum Requirements:
• High School Diploma
• Valid Driver's License
• Able to work without constant supervision.
• Able to lift 50 pounds
• Able to climb a ladder and work in high places
• Maintain good housekeeping practices
• Able to competently use basic hand tools
• Able to read simple mechanical, electrical, MOPs, JIMs, and instructional documentation
• Possess good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Aware of procedures for working around and on "in service equipment "
• Know standard Telecom color code
• Basic knowledge of AC/DC power and installation
• Customer service orientation with a strong problem-solving approach - strong interpersonal skills
