Class A CDL Lowboy Driver

Western Engineering Co Inc is looking for a qualified Class A CDL Lowboy Driver to join our dedicated team. In this critical position, you will be responsible for the transportation of asphalt paving equipment and machinery using a lowboy trailer to various job sites. Safety and precision are paramount, as you will be maneuvering significant loads while adhering to all federal and state regulations.

(This is a seasonal position)

• Transport heavy equipment and machinery using a lowboy trailer to and from job sites in a safe and efficient manner
• Transport portable asphalt plant pieces from one plant site to another in a safe and efficient manner
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and trailer, ensuring compliance with safety standards
• Secure loads appropriately to prevent damage during transport
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage and fuel consumption
• Communicate effectively with project managers and site personnel regarding delivery schedules and requirements
• Adhere to all transportation laws and regulations, and ensure compliance with company policies
• Load and unload equipment as necessary
• Report any maintenance or repair needs for the vehicle in a timely manner.

• Valid Class A CDL license with a clean driving record
• Proven experience as a lowboy driver or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of heavy equipment transportation
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices
• Ability to travel as needed for the position
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions while on the road
• Physical ability to handle equipment loading/unloading and secure heavy loads
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Pass pre-employment drug screening
