Position: Director of Finance for School District
Join Comox Valley School District as the Director of Finance, providing essential leadership in financial management starting in August 2026. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and enhance financial reporting.

You will be responsible for directing financial accounting to facilitate accurate reporting and analysis. Key functions include overseeing budgets, audits, and financial statements in alignment with district policies and strategic goals. Your effective leadership will inspire the Finance Department and ensure robust financial accountability across the school district.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee financial statements and government submissions

• Support budget monitoring and variance reporting

• Manage compliance with PSAS and public sector standards

• Provide leadership to Accounts and Payroll departments

• Ensure efficient operations of financial systems

Requirements:

• CPA designation and finance degree required

• At least five years of progressive management experience

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and PSAS essential

• Proficiency in financial software applications

• Excellent decision-making and communication skills
