Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site Truck Driver role based in Coventry, CT. The Truck Driver will operate company trucks to transport freight safely and efficiently, following assigned routes and schedules. Daily responsibilities include conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections, securing and protecting cargo, and performing loading and unloading as needed. The driver will maintain accurate logs and documentation, comply with all DOT and company safety regulations, and communicate proactively with dispatch about routes, delays, and delivery status.
The role involves working with customers and colleagues in a professional manner and supporting the overall efficiency of transport operations.
- Valid CDL Class A license and demonstrated experience in truck driving
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe truck operation practices
- Ability to manage cargo handling tasks, including loading and unloading
- Strong safety mindset, attention to detail, and reliable time management
- Clean driving record and ability to meet company and regulatory requirements
- Capability to perform vehicle inspections and basic troubleshooting on the truck
- Effective communication skills and professional customer service orientation
- Ability to work on-site in Coventry, CT and adapt to varying schedules and weather conditions
