HEAD COACH BOYS OUTDOOR TRACK
Duties and Responsibilities- Direct and supervise assistant coaches
- Organize and run practices
- Teach fundamentals and skills
- Teach rules and regulations
- Display and teach good sportsmanship
- Assist in maintaining, issuing and collecting all equipment and supplies
- Supervise players at all times
- Complete Injury Report Form within 24 hours and notify Athletic Director of any injury requiring medical attention
- Comply with the rules and regulations of the school, Athletic Department, and Interscholastic League
- Attend all coaches’ meetings, practices and contests
- Verify academic eligibility of all players, based on academic and weekly attendance records
- Communicate program expectations to student-athletes and parents
- Monitor each athlete’s athletic and academic performance
- Establish and maintain consistent standards of behavior, aligned with the Coventry High School’s Student Code of Conduct
- Document and report violations of the Student Code of Conduct to a designated administrator at Coventry High School
- Schedule and conduct a pre-season parent’s meeting
- Participate in district training related to Bullying and Harassment, Title IX and D.C.Y.F. Reporting
- Five years of coaching at the high school level preferred
- Possesses knowledge/skills in Football, based upon experience and/or coaching
- Directly responsible to the Athletic Director in collaboration with the high school principal
- Must meet Rhode Island Interscholastic League’s coaching certification requirements
- Demonstrated ability in recognizing that the growth and development of each student-athlete requires meeting their individual needs
- Must be CPR, First Aid, and AED certified and have completed the NFHS Concussion Course
