Job Description

    • Design and deliver engaging, standards-based instruction that promotes critical thinking, problem solving, literacy, and student achievement.
    • Utilize deep content knowledge to create meaningful and relevant learning experiences.
    • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic, social, emotional, cultural, and developmental needs of students.
    • Incorporate a variety of instructional strategies, technology tools, and learning resources to support student success.
    • Foster student engagement through inquiry, exploration, collaboration, and active learning.
  • Learning Environment
    • Establish and maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
    • Promote positive student behavior, responsibility, and self-advocacy.

  • Assessment and Data Use
    • Utilize a variety of formal and informal assessments to monitor student progress and inform instructional decisions.
    • Provide timely, meaningful feedback to students and families regarding academic performance and growth.
    • Maintain accurate records of student achievement and communicate progress effectively.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, administrators, and families to support student learning and achievement.
    • Participate actively in professional learning communities and school improvement efforts.
    • Build positive relationships with students, families, and community partners.
  • Professional Responsibilities
    • Engage in ongoing professional learning and reflective practice.
    • Implement district, state, and federal educational initiatives and requirements.
    • Adhere to all legal, ethical, and professional standards governing the teaching profession.
    • Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to equitable educational opportunities for all students.

Qualifications

  • Valid Rhode Island Teaching Certification appropriate for the assignment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and classroom management practices.
  • Ability to effectively support diverse learners, including students with disabilities and multilingual learners.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and professional growth.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience utilizing data to drive instructional decisions.
  • Experience integrating technology into classroom instruction.
  • Demonstrated success fostering inclusive and culturally responsive learning environments.
