Job DescriptionCoventry Public Schools is hiring for a MLL Teacher. The Multilingual Learner (MLL) Teacher provides specialized instruction in English language development while supporting multilingual learners to access grade‑level academic content.
The MLL Teacher delivers Dedicated English Language Development (ELD) and Integrated Language and Content Instruction aligned with Rhode Island Academic Standards and the WIDA English Language Development Standards. Responsibilities include planning and delivering differentiated instruction, administering language proficiency assessments, monitoring student progress, maintaining required records, and collaborating with classroom teachers, administrators, families, and support staff to promote student achievement.
Responsibilities- Design and deliver engaging, standards‑based instruction that promotes critical thinking, problem solving, literacy, and student achievement.
- Utilize deep content knowledge to create meaningful and relevant learning experiences.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic, social, emotional, cultural, and developmental needs of students.
- Incorporate a variety of instructional strategies, technology tools, and learning resources to support student success.
- Foster student engagement through inquiry, exploration, collaboration, and active learning.
- Establish and maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Promote positive student behavior, responsibility, and self‑advocacy.
- Create a classroom culture that encourages intellectual risk‑taking, mutual respect, and high expectations for all learners.
- Utilize a variety of formal and informal assessments to monitor student progress and inform instructional decisions.
- Provide timely, meaningful feedback to students and families regarding academic performance and growth.
- Maintain accurate records of student achievement and communicate progress effectively.
- Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, administrators, and families to support student learning and achievement.
- Participate actively in professional learning communities and school improvement efforts.
- Build positive relationships with students, families, and community partners.

- Valid Rhode Island Teaching Certification appropriate for the assignment.
