Job Overview

ARCHITECT Hybrid – An architect role responsible for designing and governing scalable cloud‑native Internet of Things platforms using a hybrid work model with day shifts and no travel. Apply expertise in IoT gateways, container orchestration and multi‑cloud architecture while ensuring resilient, secure, and observable services that align with enterprise standards and create sustainable value for customers and society.

• Design robust multi‑cloud architectures that integrate IoT gateways with Azure and AWS services to ensure secure, scalable and reliable data ingestion and processing for diverse device ecosystems.
• Develop high‑level and low‑level solution designs for container‑based workloads using Docker and Kubernetes, focusing on portability, resilience and efficient resource utilization across hybrid environments.
• Define traffic management patterns using Istio service mesh to enable secure service‑to‑service communication, advanced routing, fault injection and graceful degradation across microservices.
• Establish observability standards by configuring telemetry flows for metrics, logs and traces through Istio and Kubernetes primitives to support proactive monitoring and rapid incident resolution.
• Create reusable architecture blueprints and reference implementations for IoT gateway integration, covering protocol translation, edge analytics, device onboarding and secure connectivity patterns.
• Coordinate with product managers and stakeholders to translate business goals into technical architectures that maximise platform reliability, time to market and long‑term maintainability.
• Guide engineering teams on container image design, registry strategy and runtime security practices in Docker and Kubernetes to minimise vulnerabilities and support compliant delivery pipelines.
• Optimise Kubernetes clusters for performance, scalability and cost efficiency by defining autoscaling policies, namespace strategies and workload placement guidelines across clouds.
• Define cloud‑native security controls for Azure and AWS environments, including network segmentation, identity permissions and encryption configurations that align with enterprise security expectations.
• Review architecture and design proposals from development teams, provide constructive feedback and ensure alignment to cloud, IoT and service mesh reference architectures and patterns.
• Collaborate closely with site reliability and operations teams to design deployment workflows, blue‑green strategies and rollback approaches that improve release safety and platform stability.
• Document end‑to‑end solution architectures, decision records and integration patterns in clear language to support knowledge sharing, onboarding and long‑term platform evolution.
• Participate in architectural governance forums and technical design discussions to evaluate new tools, cloud services and IoT capabilities that can enhance platform capabilities and societal impact.
