Receives, rotates, wraps, and merchandises fresh and processed meats. Assists in merchandising seafood, rotisserie chickens, prepared foods, and cheeses. Provides assistance to members by answering questions and recommending products. Maintains all cleaning and safety standards within the meat department.

• Understand how to access and read production and/or financial performance reporting for your department.
• Recognize how consistent execution positively impacts the business.
• Provide assistance to members by answering questions about meats, poultry, and seafood, and making product recommendations.
• Weigh, package, wrap, and label cuts of meat, poultry, and seafood (including grinds); assist the meat cutter; may grind hamburger meat.
• Inspect and store meat upon delivery, ensuring quality standards are met or exceeded.
• Ensure the department is fully stocked; rotate per expiration; follow disposal guidelines for damaged or expired products.
• Receive and unpack meats, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses in the cooler and freezer.
• Clean and sanitize all equipment, fixtures, and areas of the meat department.
• Maintain all club policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including work in other departments.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.

• Previous experience working with fresh and processed meats preferred.
• Knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines preferred.
• Prior experience working in a meat and/or deli department preferred.
• At least 18 years of age.

• Most of the time is spent on hard surfaces with occasional bending, reaching, pulling, and stooping.
• Frequently requires lifting objects up to 30 pounds; may lift heavier objects with assistance.
• Located in a comfortable indoor area with infrequent exposure to temperature extremes and loud noises; occasional exposure to cleaning agents.

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good‑faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non‑discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is $16.75 - $20.10.
