Salary Range: $75,000 to $85,000 D.O.E

Job OverviewThe Scientist, Process Chemistry (Kilo Lab) plays a key role in executing and supporting chemical process development and kilogram‑scale API manufacturing under cGMP conditions. You will translate processes from the laboratory to the kilo lab, supporting scale‑up, optimisation, technology transfer, and troubleshooting. This is a collaborative, hands‑on role supporting high‑priority client and internal projects.
Key Responsibilities- Execute kilogram‑scale API synthesis and purification in accordance with written procedures and cGMP requirements.
- Support process development, optimisation, and technology transfer from the laboratory to kilo‑ or pilot‑scale operations.
- Collaborate closely with process chemists, analytical scientists, engineers, and manufacturing teams to ensure smooth and reproducible scale‑up.
- Prepare, review, and execute batch records and SOPs for kilo‑lab operations.
- Document all experimental results, deviations, and observations in laboratory notebooks, batch records, and electronic systems.
- Contribute to technical reports, data packages, and presentations for internal and client use.
- Participate in investigations, root cause analyses, and troubleshooting activities.
- Maintain kilo lab equipment in a clean, safe, and compliant condition.
- Support EHS compliance, audits, and inspections.
- Foster a quality‑driven, safety‑focused, collaborative work culture.
- B.S. or M.S. in Chemistry or closely related field (e.g., Chemical Engineering).
- B.S.: 2+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or fine chemical industry.
- M.S.: 1+ years of related industrial experience.
- Previous kilo lab or process chemistry experience (highly desirable).
- Strong foundation in organic and process chemistry.
- Working knowledge of cGMP, GLP, and safe chemical handling.
- Competency with lab instrumentation and analytical interpretation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Positive "can‑do" mindset and commitment to quality.
- Highly organised, detail‑oriented, and efficient.
- Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Flexible and willing to support occasional extended hours.
- Strong health and safety awareness.
- Professional, reliable, and accountable.
- Full‑time, on‑site (40+ hours per week).
- Primarily laboratory‑based with occasional exposure to temperature variations.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs occasionally and 25 lbs frequently.
- Use of standard PPE required.
- May involve occasional evening or weekend work depending on project deadlines.
