The Shipping and Warehouse Associate is responsible for picking, building, and shipping furniture as well as inventory management in a fast-paced warehouse setting.
Position OverviewThis role is central to the smooth operation of our warehouse and distribution process. The Shipping and Warehouse Associate is responsible for efficient and accurate handling of all product movement, including picking, packing, shipping, and receiving, while ensuring precise inventory control. This position requires teamwork, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and highly organized environment to meet daily shipping targets.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Work as part of a team, having responsibility for all incoming and outbound shipments.
- Pick, palletize, secure, and label freight orders.
- Picks palletize and label all Ground shipments daily.
- Interact with customers and vendors in a professional manner.
- Manage inventory.
- Correctly place finished goods in their designated locations.
- Build, inspect, and prepare furniture for shows.
- Rotate through all department functions quickly and efficiently.
- Operate heavy machinery to pick and manage inventory.
- Work with other team members to meet daily shipping goals.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all equipment and machinery used.
- Follow all safety protocols.
- This position is responsible for, but not limited to, all the tasks and duties listed above.
Success in this role is achieved by consistently meeting daily shipping goals, accurately managing inventory, and maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient warehouse operation through teamwork and attention to detail.
Qualifications- High School Graduation or equivalent. Must be able to comprehend and read basic English.
- Forklift Experience (Preferred).
- Experience with machine operation.
- Knowledge of building materials.
- Ability to read a tape measure and understand fractions.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Frequently required to talk, hear, sit, twist, use hands/fingers to push, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- Regularly required to stand for prolonged periods of time and walk.
- Climb stairs while carrying heavy objects.
- Work in inclement weather conditions.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 70 pounds overhead.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and depth perception.
- Frequently walk onto the manufacturing floor and wear PPE as required.
